A radiation sign

With our foundation of service excellence that stems from 30 years’ experience, Gamma Check is your go-to for radiation safety. In a world where a vast number of industries use radioactive isotopes, we use our knowledge, skill and experience creatively to maximise the value of services that we render. With legislation as our parameter, we aim to provide cost-effective solutions, services and products that meet the requirements of both customers and the regulatory authority.

The Hazardous Substances Act, 1973 (Act No. 15 of 1973) is the governing Act over radiation sources. SAHPRA has numerous guidelines and requirements of what they demand for every business using radioactive sources. Gamma Check provides solutions for radiation safety as set by the regulatory body SAHPRA. These measures might seem excessive, but high and constant exposure to radiation can cause serious health problems such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases and even death. Therefore these measures are in place to protect the employees and public from harmful radiation accidents. Gamma Check does a full annual audit on the isotopes at your business and can provide all services, accessories, training, administrative processes and signage to ensure your business complies with the requirements.

Gamma Check was founded 30 years ago and is still being managed by Elmarie Pentz. With her and her team’s experience in the field, Gamma Check should be your supplier of choice when it comes to radiation safety. Our current client base stretches throughout South Africa and numerous mines in Africa, although any company in need of radiation safety services is our potential client.
